I just put on brand new Potenza S-03's and the difference between those and the runflats is like night and day. The sound is much more quiet and the ride has improved 100%. I have yet to really get on them since they are new and still a little slick. I have the stock 99 rims and put 255/40/17 up front and 275/35/18 in back. I really wanted a 285 but they only came in 285/30/18 and I didn't want the back end to have a shorter diameter than the front. My question is: what is a good tire pressure to run with these. I am running 35psi right now but am wondering if anyone has their tires at a different pressure than the recommended pressure from Chevy.
I'm curious about what others are running for pressure too. I just got a set put on my car this afternoon. The tire dealer set their pressure to about 36 psi. The door jam guide recommends 30 psi for the stock Goodyear Runflats, so I'm not sure what to set the Bridgestones to. I don't want to run the pressures so high that the DIC high pressure warning messages start coming up. I know that they come on around 40 psi or so. Starting cold at 36 psi will probably push the hot pressure up close to 40.
I went with the S-02's b/c they are a little sticker(treadwear of 140 vs. 220). Man do they hook! I wonder why the S-03's were designed with harder rubber?

On the road I run mine at 30. I have about 6K on them and don't see any unusal tread wear problem. Not sure why you would want to run them higher on the street. I think they are similar in design and duty to the Z06 tires> I believe the Z06 calls for 30 also? Anybody else?

Interesting. Is that the only difference between the two?

I was told that the S03s had better traction and wear than the S02s! In fact i just got that input from a Bridgestone engineer at the RoadAmerica CART race. I hope he was serious!! :blueangel: :blueangel:

Those two words do not seem to make sense("better traction and wear). Especially considering how much softer the tread is on the S-02's. I really fell in love with the tread pattern of the S-02 and the traction was just a plus. It is hard to believe that the S-03's will hook better. I have ran pilot sports which are similar treadwear as the S-03's and they do not hook as well as the S-02's. Very interesting...
I am sold on the SO2's......we push tires to the limit and the only other tire I would like to try is the BFG KD's. Also, the SO2's come in the right sizes...295 rears!!!
I have about 6,000 miles on mine, run 31 in the fronts and 30 in the rears. So far, the tread wear looks great! Also, they sure did improve the handling on the car both on the street and on the track.
