Howdy all, I have 2003 with a window problem. The cable on the drivers side slipped off one of the pulleys. The motor works fine and the cable is not frayed. I removed the unit in an attempt to get the cable stretched back around the pulleys to no avail. I even compressed the springs that protrude from the motor but I can't seem to stretch it far enough. Has anyone been able to do this or is it even possible? Thanks in advance for your reply! -Frank
The window regulators are generic parts and have several POS plastic parts. A replacement runs about $90. Probably easiest just to replace the whole unit. I posted a how-to writeup with pics a couple of years ago.
I just received my OEM A/C Delco window regulator from Amazon. I noticed that the springs going into the motor are compressed. Do those two springs get released? They were released on the regulator that I removed.

NO. The fact that they appeared "released" on the old regulator is why the old regulator has "failed". On mine only one of the springs was released and the cable was still in all of the pulleys and it still made a terrible grinding noise (until I replaced it).
