Do I need to check the blue connectors as well? I was under the impression they were for the radio. Would those connections matter with this problem?
Is this problem strictly an issue with the power connections to the doors, meaning the larger orange and black wires in each connection? I really need to narrow down and isolate the stuff to troubleshoot. I feel like I am repeating my efforts too many times with no success.
I really appreciate all the help from the forum.
My poor baby looks terrible. Door panels off, accordion tubes loose with connectors hanging, kick panels out, tools scattered about. Pitiful.

To my knowledge, the mirror has never been replaced. I'm the third owner and the previous owner (local) told me he never did anything to the car except service it and drive it. I drove it for nearly two years with no issues until after I had it painted. Everything started right after that.
Thanks for the diagrams and explanations. I appreciate it. More work to do now.
I don't know. I was going to call the body shop and ask. That's a good question. Do you think he might have messed up something electrical is he did take them off?
I just called them. The mirrors were removed, the door connectors unplugged, etc. for painting.

I have gone through all four door connectors and the connections for each mirror in the doors. No change. With the door panels off, I can hear a click from the RDCM when I clear the LDCM codes. I'm also getting a B1001 from the SDM that clears easily. I may be off in my thinking, but something is killing power to the left door. That also explains why my JVC radio does not work. The door amp is not getting power. I'm going to disconnect the battery cable and see if it resets everything like it has in the past.
No change. The door is still dead. The switch panel lights still come on when I open the door and the passenger lock and the memory seat both still work. Just no windows, driver's lock or mirrors.
Before I waste more time, can I isolate things to better pin this down? Can I disconnect anything to get it out of the picture, such as the mirrors, etc.?
More weirdness...
I checked all the fuses (none bad) and then just tried to get the mirrors to do something from the driver's side controls. When I hit the passenger side switch and a direction arrow, the RDCM would click but nothing happened. When I tried the driver's side mirror switch and a direction arrow, the driver's window jerked most of the way down. It did that once and remains down. I wiggled wires, moved connections around, etc. trying to repeat the event and to get the window up but no dice. I switched out the driver's controls to my spare but nothing. Now the window is down and I can't do anything about it.

Now when I push the passenger side mirror control and a direction button, the passenger side door module clicks and the memory seat light and mirror light blink on the control pad. Neither mirror works.
I checked the connectors everywhere and tightened ones that probably really didn't need it. The mirrors can't be isolated since everything is connected to everything else. I tried that and wasted a few minutes of my life I'll never get back.
These cars have been made 'way too complicated. Someone more experienced with these cars and their circuitry will have to take over.
I've been fighting this for months and am getting tired of all the back and forth checking the same things and swapping the same parts. I need someone who can put their eyes and hands on the problem(s) and get them resolved for me. I really hate that, too. I've always done my own work from minor maintenance to total restorations.
Don't get me wrong here. I've had some great help from some great forum members, but it's time to let someone more experienced tear into it and fix it. I can't even drive the thing in the shape it's in with the electrical guts from both doors hanging loose and the windows down and non-functional.
Once I get it fixed I'll decide if I want to keep it or move on to something else. I'm just tired of all the complexity.
From reading the whole thread it seems the problem started when the car was painted and the door panels were removed. So that starts the problem. I do not know about the C5 but I had a problem on my old C4 with the mirror and windows and fixed it finding wrong connectors connected. Have you visually check each connector making sure it is corrected to the correct place.
Thanks for responding. The mirrors only connect one way. That could easily be the problem but without spending more money on what could be the solution this time I'll have to wait for. I've already replaced several items that did not resolve the issue and I really hate to keep going down that path.
I've started one more thread "Electrical Gremlins - Part 3 - Let's fix it this time" to consolidate what is known and has been done to this point. I'm mentally ready to start over and do what needs to be done to fix my car.
