The kits have 8 pieces to plug in.
The quickie way is a 10 ohm resistors in the wire that goes to the shock. What are the other connectors in the kit for?
The other connectors are for the suspension travel/ride height sensors. If you just leave them on the car after you remove the adjustable shocks, the computer will be happy, but they're kind of big and clunky, so some people like to remove them altogether, hence the 8 pieces in the kit.
The suspension travel simulators are the only secret sauce in those kits, as I don't think anyone has reverse engineered them. Maybe they're just potentiometers and work just like a fuel level sender; I don't really know.
If you don't feel strongly about eliminating the suspension travel sensors, there's no good reason to buy one of those kits, since as you stated, the other 4 parts are just resistors, which aren't worth $200.

Thanks Bacon. That clears it up. No need to remove those pieces just for fun and spend more money. Resistors it is.
Thanks, Steve
