Default Tech2 Arrived, Now the fun begins !

Well, I was skeptical about the quoted delivery time. I ordered it on Friday evening, 1-15 and it arrived last night, Wednesday, 1-20.

Now if we were not getting this Nor'easter with almost a foot and a half of snow predicted I'd take it with me to work over the weekend and hook it up to my truck and check it out.

Anyway, here it is !

All I need now is for my laptop to arrive and i'm good to go !

Congratulations!

Did it include the TIS2000 CD and DVD along with the USB Key, or just the discs without the USB Key?

Sure, $339.00 + $137.00 shipping

Now I know that there are several advertised at a lesser price and free shipping but let me explain myself for buying this.

I read a couple of horror stories in another thread in regards to breakdowns, tech support problems and not getting either money back, returned unit for repair or both.

Also Dararoo aka Sam and 8VETTE7 both recommended this vendor as the one to go with because of reliability etc, etc.

and to quote akapounder............"what the hell, it's only money ! "

My guess is, the program is so big that it's burned to a DVD .
I haven't gotten a chance to mess with it so to be honest I don't know.
Awaiting my laptop arrival and i'll load everything on to that.

Looks like a nice setup, but I have to ask why does it cost $117 for shipping?

It's shipped form Hong Kong and it's heavy. I have had guitars in hard shell cases shipped from Japan and the cost was $130.00 so I wasn't skeptical about the shipping price. The case alone has a 4kg / 8lb shipping weight.

Of course it's a clone....real GM Tech2 run in the $2k to $3k range.
Some of the guys here have clones and have reported that it works just as well as the original. Contact members akapounder, dadaroo or 8VETTE7 and ask them !

Please let us know how well it works.... I would certainly be willing to spend $400 to get the capabilities that tool offers.

From what I've read - the OEM Tech II's were being made overseas at the end - and hopefully what you purchased was made in the same factory - by the same people - as the $2,000 Tech II's.

And if it makes you feel any better - those of us about 50 miles North of you are getting pounded as well. Yesterday they said I was probably going to get 6" - 12" - now it's 12" - 18".

Mine (from AliExpress) came with the GM stickers for what that's worth ?????

We're still getting hammered here in Central New Jersey, last total I saw was 16" and it's not stopping anytime soon.

32 MB PCMCIA card

Assuming that '94 copyright date is when they started using Tech2, that's a 16 model year span up to '10.
