I just noticed today that when my headlights are on my inner passenger side led halo mod taillight doesn't light up the inner portion of the light when I apply the brakes. However when the hazards or turn signal is activated the outer halo flashes instead of the inner portion. Now this only with headlights/parking lights on. If i turn off the lights it operates normally. Any ideas?
Dismount it, clean the contacts and give it a try. If still messed up, it might be that one of the mod wires is pinched between the board and the back case causing a puncture in the insulation, or an internal failure. Do you still have warranty? If yes, and cleaning the contacts and resitting the plug doesn't solve it, you might want to contact the vendor.
It happened because the previous owner was a hack at electrical mods. Even though he was an aicraft avionics mechanic before. He had spliced in speaker wire for some reason. By spliced i mean twisted wires together then wrapped it with electrical tape

After all these years in aviation, I still can not believe what I find and what some people claim they can do.
Hahaha......you might be frightened at what goes on for maintenance on an aircraft sometimes. Everything isn't as always as "professional" as they appear.
