Default c5 parking pad replacement?

Can anyone explain how to replace the parking shoes on a c5? I damaged mine removing the roter, and having trouble with the wire that holds it in place. Is there an easy way to put it on?

It's a real pain in the rear. there's not really easy way to do it. There is a tool that you can buy, but needle nose pliars or a screw driver can do it.

If you google this: site:corvetteforum.com c5 parking brake

you'll find a lot of threads and a lot of pictures that will help you do it. I found that by reading all or most of them and looking at all the pictures we had a far easier time with mine.

Yes, it is a pain to reinstall without having to take a bunch of other stuff apart. However, like Sox-Fan says, you can re-install with some needle nose pliers or a screwdriver. Take a look at the other side to get a clear understanding of how it fits in there. It will help. I used a couple of screwdrivers and it took me three tries (and a bunch of swearing) before I got it re-installed.

Patience, needle nose pliers and zip ties. The zip ties hold everything in place until it's done then cut them and pull them out.
