I am going to be installing an amp and sub in my 03 Z06, and I need a little help.
I know how all the audio and power wiring connects together, my concerns are primarily running the power cable through the firewall to the battery, where to ground the amp in the rear, and how to disassemble the interior to run the wiring to the rear.
I have searched the forum, youtube, and google and found nothing specific to this installation in a C5 Corvette.
Pull battery and drop panel on passenger side and use factory grommet
Panel on passenger door sill will pull straight up. Use factory seat stud as ground
Can fit a medium to small amp under passenger seat
I'm not clear which panel you're talking about when you say "drop panel on passenger side". Are you talking about the panel in the wheel well to access the PCM area?
I've got the battery and passenger seat out. Looks like it will fit just fine, just need to get some velcro to secure to carpet.

Reason: specifics
Pull piece below glovebox should show you other end of grommet
I tried pulling down on it, but it doesn't seem to want to come out. I don't want to break it, and I don't know how it is secured. There is a white round plastic plug that appears to hold it in. Does it snap out?
Disregard pentavolvo, I finally got the panels down and got the wire fished through the OEM grommet and into the cabin. I think that was the most labor intensive part of the install, and I believe I've got it from here.
Thank you very much for the pointers.

You're looking in the wrong place - there is a separate Audio forum :-)
I think running power cables through the firewall and interior is a big waste of time, and tough on the interior (and lower back) to say the least. I ran mine easily through the hydro-formed frame, and there is a major grounding point right there too - See here https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-c5-frame.html
The other (smaller) wires (rca's and power trigger) can easily be run under carpet from the rear of the console to the amp mount. No panels to be removed, but may have to poke a hole in carpet depending on where you mount the amp (and coupe vs convert).

I apologize for my ignorance Sir. I didn't know there was an audio forum, and I still haven't been able to find it.
This is the only social media I use, and I guess I don't understand some of the things about it. I did try to search for the information, but I was unsuccessful. That's why I asked for some help.

Don't feel bad about it! I'm sure the advice was not given with that intention, if you consider the smiley that went with it
