Default Hud 2001 1sc

I have searched all over and can't seem to find answer...I have an 01 1sc package vette. I am a gear head but admittedly don't know nearly as much about late model vettes. I see that my car has a projector in the dash from the factory, but no controls on the instrument panel. My codes in the glove box, as I understand them, say it came with HUD. What am I missing here (besides the controls obviously)?

Thanks
NOLAtrader.

You see the projector but don't have controls to the upper left on the dash?

Maybe someone has changed out the gauge cluster?

No, my control panel is blank...just the dome/cluster dimmer.

Maybe someone changed it, but why on earth would they leave that out? (Retorical)

So would it be safe to say if the projector is factory, I should be able to add the cluster control and it work? Of course assuming the thing works in the first place?

In other words, if the factory cut the hole and installed the projector, I'm sure they meant for it to work...besides, it's a 1sc package...and those come with hud...I'm just questioning bc I don't want to spend a hundred on the control and it not work. Any suggestions? Is there a place that would accept a return if this thing doesn't work?

I'm with you - why in the world would it have the HUD projector and not have the dash controls? You could buy a used control switch, install it and see if the HUD works. VetteNuts would be a source for a used switch.

only draw back is if I get the control and it doesn't work, now I'll have to buy a projector. Personally, it's not worth the hundreds of dollars to have hud. I would spend a hundred if it worked...but if not, I'd want to return the controls and forget it...
