OK, I have about 450 miles of easy driving on the new clutch setup. I tried a quick 1st-2nd shift and all I get is slippage. The clutch feels perfect everywhere else. I can stop on it hard rolling in 1st and it does not slip at all. It is just when I do a fast 1st-2nd shift. I have not tried a 2nd-3rd but I assume it will do the same. I had the clutch professionally installed(will not mention the name, yet...), but could they have installed it improperly? Why does it only slip on the 1st-2nd and not when I stop on it in 1st. And it slips very bad, I have to let off the throttle completely. I know this clutch should have no problem holding 375rwhp/360rwtq off nitrous.
Now today I noticed the resovoir was dry. I could'nt believe it but they tightened the damn clamp too hard on the slave and split the rubber line. So now I think I have air in the line, even though the clutch feels fine. So should I get them to re-bleed the lines even though it feels OK. I am sure everyone will say yes on this, especially considering the money involved. Would air in the line cause slippage? I don't see how. Besides it was slipping before I noticed the leak. Damn I am mad! :mad
Re: HELP!!! STAR SPEC III CLUTCH ISSUES... (C5Noir)
After the post last night I got in my car to notice that it would not go in gear and the pedal was sticking to the floor. So now the slave went out on me!
Thanks C5Noir, just found out that air is probably what did it. Air got in from the busted line and made it's way to the slave. The slave blew an o-ring or similar which caused brake fluid to get on the clutch disk. Man what a week! :mad
Re: HELP!!! STAR SPEC III CLUTCH ISSUES... (C5-VERT)
If fluid got on the disc most likely you need another disc. Since we blew 3 slaves in my car i bought another disc because i thought fluid was on it. My mechanic said he took it apart and it was fine. Key word "said". I doubt he took mine apart and I have had some slippage at the track(only once) but I have since sent back the new disc since it did not seem required. I'm just gonna run this clutch till i kill it and then look for other options for a clutch.

With all the time and money you spent getting this setup for your car only to have this happen is quite a PITA!! I hope you get it fixed quickly so you can enjoy your car again! :yesnod:
Re: HELP!!! STAR SPEC III CLUTCH ISSUES... (vetterdstr)
I dont think you have an issue with your clutch, but an issue with the install. My Spec Stage III took almost 1000 miles to break in. Now with 5k on the clock I launch @ 4k without any slippage. My car is not a car that has an easy life.
