Well, I was looking under the hood, and I noticed a bolt missing and one barely hanging on. I am the first to admit I am not very knowledgeable about engines. So, here I am trying to figure out how big of an issue I have. I will attach pictures (looking at the engine from the passenger side). I just bought the car last August, and the only thing I have touched under the hood was installing my air intake, which has nothing to do with these bolts. Any help is appreciated.

there aren't supposed to be any bolts in those holes... the heads are the same so they aren't left or right specific and those holes are there for holding various brackets and grounds on the backside... the reason those holes are on the front is due to the heads not being specific to a certain side of the engine they put the holes on both sides of the head so you will have the needed holes no matter which side it is installed on... some people also use those holes on the passenger head for catch can or supercharger brackets

Thank you! I appreciate your time for explaining that! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any bolts!
Your engine may have been removed at some point. The bolt with the washer may have been placed there to attach a lifting chain. Common way to pull motors when lifting brackets were not factory installed.

Either removed or raised up maybe. Someone was too lazy to remove the damn bolt and throw it back in the fastener bin.
