C5 fuel gauge issue
I have been doing this on my 2002 Z06 on a regular basis but, just last week I was on a long drive and the gauge suddenly went from a little less than half a tank to zero.
Is there a more permanent fix to this condition or do we just dump Techron into the tank? I see Royal Purple also makes a fuel additive and it claims to be good for 10k miles; is anyone using it or are you sticking with the Techron for some reason?

Pull and post your codes......
Continuing to repeat the same procedure over and over expecting a different result, will NOT fix the underlying issue. OP: Start with the right side fuel tank sender assembly first, as it has historically proven to be the most problematic of the two when a chronic problem like this happens.
Note: I replaced my right side unit several YEARS ago and have never had a problem since. Not even one time. I also ONLY use premium fuel from a top tier manufacturer. My preference is either Shell OR Chevron/Texaco. The only time I add Techron is at oil change time, purely as a preventive maintenance measure.
I have the same deal on my 03 , so have been following the posts about this for a while. JUst reading, not fixing.
I seems the techtron fix will only work if you have poor gas, which I think you can only pedal in economic hardship zones, exempt from federal air quality controls, which is not New Jersey, last tine I checked.
I live in California, and wasted a lot of money before it dawned on me that my car has been running only top tier gas , which has that additive, for years , and the successful results were reported from a lot of guys without smog equipment and with gas secured from the quick mart.
