Hey fellas, I need your experience and expertise. :D :D
Here is the deal; I can't decide which LT Headers I want. I like these (below) because it does not require welding.
Belanger - ??
FLP LT Headers System - (leaning more toward this one, but I have to get rid of my Bassani X-Pipe and High Flow Random Cats and use FLP Complete system).
I would like to get your feed back regarding the Belanger, and FLP system from your personal experience (hates it, love it, etc.)
Mav,
jumping in here because LT headers are a slow topic at the moment.
I have TPIS LT headers because they were big enough to handle the Stage I heads that were in phase 3 of my mod schedule. Headers were in stage 2.
another thing I liked about the TPIS was $$. The ceramic coating is good but I'm cooking it off with every track event.
IMHO the diff between headers is splitting hairs unless they are part of a front to back package. headers are a part of the equation but not the big kick **** jump that I though they would be.
In other words, I only gained 12 rwhp and 16 rwt with LT headers and an X-pipe (Shawn said it would be 25-30  ) but the reason the gain was minimal was because the big air pump needs more air to pump through the headers. So Phase 3: LS6 intake, stage I heads, & cam will let the headers make more hp by being able to handle the increase in airflow.
Yes, I was a little disappointed in the hp gains with the LT's & X-pipe but they are main componets to the final package. You can't (shouldn't) do heads & cam without LT headers.
So what are your issues? You want to be able to install them without welding? You can always install them and drive it (open headers) to a shop for the welding. What are your main decision critiera?
Maverick, I have the FLP system that a friend and I installed on my coupe. I had to pull my MagnaFlow x-pipe to use the FLP system complete. I absolutely love this system. It's easy to install and you retain the flexibility to swap to an off-road setup quickly if you so desire. It's a pure bolt-on system, as advertised. The quality and look are excellent. I was under the car changing my oil and tranny fluid this weekend and just had to stop and admire how nice the FLP setup looks under there. You lose a substantial amount of weight with it compared to the stock setup as well. I'm currently running with the hi-flow cats.
The SOTP was more than I or my buddy expected. It really made a noticeable difference in feel as weel as sound. I love it. IMHO, you can't go wrong with these.
