DIC is giving U1064,1096,1016 codes (loss of comm.) for LDCM, RDCM, RAF. Also getting B1001 for the SDM ( identification issue between SDM and BCM) neither module has been changed. Have the Check Engine light on now and lastly Intake Air Temp codes P0113 and P1111. I think this (IAT)could be an issue with the Breathless Perf Prod. MAF sensor I installed 3 months ago although I have never had this code until now. The battery seems OK holding 11.7 volts (DIC Gage)with lights on but it is the 1999 OEM and I will replace it this week with a GM Glass Matt. Anybody have any ideas???? Last place I want to go is the dealer!! I don’t have an Auto –Tap. :(
Re: Help-Loss of module communication (potent45acp)
I had similar codes on my 2001 Z 13,000 miles. Dealer changed PCM. This is the third PCM in my car. Tech checked with Tech center before change out. Ok so far.
Re: Help-Loss of module communication (potent45acp)
How old is your battery? I tend to agree that this sounds like a battery issue. Those "U" codes tend to show up whenever power is interrupted, such as disconnecting the battery. You might also want to check and see if your battery has been leaking any acid down onto the PCM or any of the wiring and vacuum lines located directly below the battery. The new ACDelco 75P-7YR AGM battery is a good choice, I think. I have one and have liked it real well. The price was reasonable, too.
Re: Help-Loss of module communication (potent45acp)
let me know what you come up with....my 99 hardtop, just did the same thing all 3 U codes...and the p0113 and p1111 also....I did pull out the 10amp fuse under the hood for the pcm...i also have unplugged the IAT while changing MAF's but never with the key on...my car has been pinging also...at WOT between 5-6krpm...
