Exploded view of factory intake setup? Pics?
I'm trying to restore the factory intake on my 2002 C5 from an aftermarket setup on the car and having a beast of a time figuring it out. Already have the shroud, airbox, and the bellow, but can't make sense of what and where things should be, and I can gather I'm missing:
-- grommets that fit inside the wings of the bellow, which ride on posts that are on top of the radiator cover
-- accordion pipe from the bellow to the TB
-- possibly an intake air temp sensor, although the bellow I got has no opening for one?
-- proper hose for the PCV system...mine is 3 different colors which suggests its been changed?
-- have no clue where the studs of the airbox are held on or how. I see openings in the front of the engine bay but have no retaining nuts for them?
Does anyone have a full exploded view of the setup with all the misc. small parts? Or could someone provide photos if you've changed yours? Need to get this sorted before I can start autocross and it really has me thrown for a loop. Tried going on gmpartsdirect but they only show the larger components.
Thanks for your help.
I have download for my 2000

This is unique for the C5. If you cannot locate the OEM setup then you could possibly use a very large coupler but I would imagine it would need to be a 4" to 4 1/2" ID'ed coupler or similar. The accordion has a crimp ring on the air bridge side and a fitted clamp on the TB side.
The bottom portion of the air box is supposed to have two T30 head torx bolts; I apologize I do not know the thread pitch of the bolts. The torx bolts have a sleeved insert that "hold" them to the box so you can position it against the front cross member to install. It's a bit of a bear to get in though with the hood and such in the way as you have to REALLY reach in there, or you have small hands slip in under the hood with it raised.

Velocity_Vette, all awesome info as well. I'll check the studs I mentioned and see if they're actually tipped with torx heads and I just missed it. Was expecting a nut to be there rather than a built in body mount. If it's as tough as you say and as it looks, seems like it's time to lean how to pull the bumper cover. Might get a factory horn for the car to put in while I'm in there prior owner put on some abomination that sounds awful (.although I've considered getting one from an 80s era Caddy just for ***** n giggles).
