I bought a car w/o the key found the car later. Anyway Discount hammered on some a socket and took them off with the impact. They used the same socket on all four. I bought a set of better locks that mathced the Z06 wheels better. If you keep the stock cap may need to get stock type locks.. 18 bucks is not worth the hassle of tracking down a 20$ key IMO :seeya
I bought mine(Vette) from a dealer in the East. It shipped out to me in the west, minus its key. GM does not keep records, numbers or anything that can help you. The dealers have masters (supposedly) but they are passed out according to geography...cars destined for the east have one master and cars in the west another, etc.. so I was out of luck. After calling Snap On tools who has a kit available to remove it, I stumbled across this little nugget..........a 20mm socket can be tapped onto the lock and then use your wrench (impact or whatever) to remove it....worked great and saved me $100 for the Snap On kit. :seeya
The '02's and beyond don't come with wheel locks anymore. I don't have any on my '02. I won't use them anymore. If a thief wants to steal your wheels they will get them reguardless of your piddly little locks. I'd rather make it easy for them and just make sure my insurance is paid up.
I did the same thing a few months ago....Snapon makes a tool that will remove these without damage to the wheel. You need a impact wrench.
Everyone here convinced me that they will steal the car before the wheels so I got rid of the locks
