steering column look problems

i bought a 97 automatic about four months ago . when i would pull my key the key chime would keep chiming.this has been going on for about a month.just the other day i got a error code pull key and wait 10 seconds and car would not start. i had the car towed home and when they unloaded it ,it started and ran fine.now it has done it again. the column wont lock so they have done the recall fix. i have ordered the lock bypass.i have read all the threads and am having trouble making head or tails. is this fix going to help , will i have to unhook what they did ?please help me if you can

of the 4 recalls none of them fixed it !!!!!!!!!!! This did !!!done deal !!!!!

How is your battery? You should have it checked. A low battery can cause the problems you are experiencing. The column lock will not keep the car from starting. You need to pull and post the codes.
