Last fall the passenger window on my 2000 c5 refused to close. Thinking the motor was malfunctioning I tapped on the mounting bolt with a hammer and it worked again repeatedly. I figured this may be to the window not being exercised much since new. This week the problem returned. Additionally the power lock will not lock the door. If I manually lock the door it will unlock with the power. We are 300 miles from home and the window is up so I'm leaving it alone til I get home. My question is: Is there a common component I should address that would cause both the window to not go down and the power lock to not function.
I'm loving my new to me c5!!!
Thanks for the help Mr.Sam!
After returning home I was able to do more trouble shooting. It seemed that if I held the button down for a few seconds the lock would work. After a few minutes of cycling it seems to work ok. The window , however, cannot be coaxed at all. I'm thinking if I check for voltage to the motor that should indicate if it is the relay or the motor. Is there anything else I should be checking?
