Wondering if anyone has any ideas about cleaning injectors. Has anyone come up with a way to do it themselves? If so, how? I'm trying to aviod the car being down for a week while their sent off to never never land....
Without using any injectors cleanners, my stock fuel injectors have been working perfectly for the last 31K miles or so. I plan on running them for another 20K miles or so and then just replace them with a new set.
My crew chief, who is a tech for a living, swears by the fuel-tank-drop-in stuff. I'll try and get a specific brand, but he says they have solved many many drivability problems by just dropping it into the tank. Not many shops are doing the pressure cleaning anymore, appearantly.
Re: Cleaning injectors... Best options? (davidfarmer)
my mechanic (chief mechanic for a racing school) recommends techron fuel additive with each oil change. that and stomp on the gas from time to time (I rarely get above 4k rpms).

I wouldn't be surprised if he recommends Techron which is produced by Chevron. That's about the best that I've run across.
