Here are the gear ratios:

Yes - the MN12 is the Z06 tranny. New, I believe they go for about $2700. It's much cheaper to get a 3.90 rear end. Here is what the effective drive ratios look like between a stock MN12 and and MN6 with the stock, 3.73, and 3.90 gears:

First------2.97.....10.16....2.66.....9.1.....9.92. ...10.37
Second---2.07......7.08....1.78.....6.09....6.64. ....6.94
Third-----1.43......4.89.....1.30....4.45....4.85. ....5.07
Fourth----1.00......3.42.....1.0......3.42....3.73 .....3.90
Fifth------0.84......2.87.....0.74.....2.53....2.76 .....2.89
Sixth-----0.56......1.92.....0.50.....1.71....1.87 .....1.95
As you can see, the MN6 with a 3.90 gear is very close to a MN12/3.42, except that 4th gear will pull a lot harder with the MN6/3.90 combo.
