Last spring fellow forum member Neill Pritchard, a/k/a Batmobile, published several reports about his broken suspension. See these threads --- there were almost 200 responses:
I should have the car back end of next week...original damage was March 22nd!!
Once I have the car back in my possession, I will fill everyone in on some details...
;)

PS...I'll leave it up to you to alert anyone else on the other forum...;)

What "other" Forum? Can you post the link?
All kidding aside, did you/they do any tests, and since my car was built March 6, 2000, and delivered April 26, 2000 (close enough to yours, I believe), do I need to keep an eye on my toe-in/out specs? In another recent post, someone alerted me to corrosion on aluminium :D chassis parts, and I was wondering if I should be concerned as we get to winter up here.
Even with one guy out 35,000 on this forum reported a problem with broken welds on the rear upper control arm frame mounts, I decided to have a look at mine. Nothing. If you are concerned, jack up the rear, take the wheels off and have a close look! Check the torque specs of the bolts while you are at it. Mine were loose. Maybe this is what caused the other dudes problems!

This is what I did, and I found a weld like this (already posted it some month ago)
I do not think that it´s a problem only for some cars around batmobil´s VIN. MAG-welding is well known to behave like this. The worst thing is, that the weld may look perfect from the outside....without any burn in quality in the inside. So the only way is to check the whole bracket if it´s still on it´s place and check for cracks too.

How can one find out if, say my car, was built around the same time as Batmobile's? Thanks.
It seems like it would be much easier to just have one's car inspected for bad welds, if concerned. Tracking down build dates , ect. seems to be much more work.
I just got off the phone with the body shop manager. He says the car is complete...they have it on the alignment rack for one last alignment check, and it should be delivered to the Port tomorrow morning.
So, HOPEFULLY, we are NOT too far off from getting her home.
They had done the alignment, taken it for a test drive and were happy with how it was driving. They had handed the car over to the 'detailing' department, for a final clean up. They were making arrangements to have it delivered this morning.
I'll give them a hollar after lunch to see if it was delivered to the port.
Re: ***[WARNING] BROKEN SUSPENSION!!*** (Mean Green 2000)
There could a number of explanations for the weld failure. Power fluctuation at the welding unit, grease or dirt at the weld or simply a fluke. Don't get me wrong here but you all sound like Chicken Little telling everone the sky is falling. Every time someone finds something wrong with thier car and posts on the forum you all rush out to see if you have the same problem. I know these cars cost a lot and I know you all love yours as much as I love mine but gee wiz, take a break and just enjoy the car. I hope I haven't offended everybody but just my opinion.
