Default ENGINE.................................. ..................

Is it safe to wash an LS1 in a '98 Vette at the car wash with one of those pressure type sprayers? Thanks.

I have, no problems. Avoide the electrical systems and you should be fine too.

I have degreased and washed the engines on my C5, the Ferrari, the NSX, the Subaru, and many other cars and never had a problem. I did not use a pressure washer as it might be too powerful, but I have sprayed them down with various engine cleaners or something like Formula 409 and hit it with a spray from the hose. You can later spray the engine and bay with an engine detailing spray and it leaves everything with a new shine.
I used to blow out the excess water with a leaf blower until it crapped out last year. However, I just bought a new 6.5HP Craftsman shop vac that has a detatchable motor to be used as a blower. It puts out 230 MPH and is even better than the leaf blower. In addition it really SUCKS!!
Now I use it to blow dry the cars after washing and it makes then ready to Z6 in a few minutes time. Great product!

I've read here for a while that it's okay, but I'm too scared to try it.

I would NOT use a pressure spray from a car wash, but have used a fine spray from a garden hose at home. You know how "electrical/ground sensitive" the C5 is; why take chances. After it is clean, just get a rag damp with any good detailer and wipe it down every few days. :smash: :yesnod: :)
