IF your reading this your online... so, right NOW order your LMC5 module and as soon as you get it INSTALL it...
Ok well I'm gonna order it now thank you for taking the time to help a newbie out today hope I can return the favor sometime
It has taken some time for this old timer to finally know my way around the forum and the C5/LS1... there is a learning curve for sure... glad I'm able to have some input. Glad your here and learning as well... good luck with your C5 and enjoy...
I just bought a 99 C5 with automatic. When the car is in part and shut off I can still turn the wheel. I looked at the module and I don't see anything that looks like the LMC5 MODULE is installed.

Am I safe from the column lock fault?
NO... get the LMC5 and install it then you can mark the CL off the LIST.
LOW voltage or bad battery caused your issue--why use a diff key? anyway new battery or a good battery fully charged--no more problems! PAUL K c4c5 specialist says DO NOT use a after market clb--He knows his corvettes--most dealer installed fix are still going strong-
