The driver side window on my vert have sometimes started to make a foul grinding sound when I close it. Sometimes it fine, and somtimes it just stoppes.
I've read that it's probably the window actuator (which seems like it is the complete lifting mechanisme?)
I'm about to pull the plug on ordering one, but since this forum is infinate in it's wisdome, I just thought I post here to get tips if it could be something else and if it's ok to buy aftermarket or original (AC Delco?)

Buy AC Delco on Amazon pretty cheap.....typically the plastic guides break up on regulator causing that crunching sound and jamming it up...all one piece not too hard to replace just search the posts here and take your time.
Well, now actually the passenger window is acting up. Was letting the top down today and only driver side window went down. When I push the window down button I can hear a small click but nothing happens. This window had had no noise or anything, worked perfect until full stop. Just came home late so no possibility to look at it, could it be a fuse?

My first American car, and now I know why I love it. As mentioned, the passenger window just stopped working. I removed door panel and started to investigate. Found that the connector on the electric motor got power as it should, so I concluded that it was a burned motor or something. Just in case I took a hammer and gave the motor a good "cack on the head". Connected everything, and it worked perfectly again.
