Just use some vise grips and some 100MPH tape.

I didn't worry about the torque because of the rust and crap !!!! I tighten both about a half turn, and wow no clicking from reverse to first today, I don't don't miss it at all (33 mm axle socket)

When I was bending wrenches on helos in Germany, the most common torque spec used on non-critical bolts was "Gut und Tight"

It will probably come back, I took my nut off, pushed the axle back and cleaned it with brake clean. All kinds of nasty rust and crap came out.

Then I sprayed motorcycle chain wax up in there and have yet to hear a peep from back there even after tracking the car multiple times.

I think I torqued mine to 140 ft lbs, don't remember.

My 01 stock automatic sometimes makes a click/clank 1x noise when coming to a gentle stop in drive....is this the same issue? Don't hear it when doing any other shifting.

not sure mine was 1st to reverse and what it was is the axle shaft rotating back and forth inside the hub !!!!!!! I had small shavings and lots of rust particles around the nut ?/ (was a telltale sign for me)

33mm. The 32 in an above post looked like a different nut.
People have different sized nuts.

I've gone through this too many times on too many cars. I really need to buy an axle nut impact socket set.
