Default Looking down a tube.....

Hi everyone,
Well, I have a HVAC B0338 interior temp sensor code and thought I could locate the thermistor pretty easy, similar to the external one at the grill. Took the little cover off expecting to see it and I found myself looking down a long plastic tube disappearing well into the depths of the dash. Nothing is as it seems when attempting to fix a car of this nature, usually difficult from what I've observed. I would like to test it and inspect the connection to it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to its location and the amount of parts I will have to remove to get to it? The part number for replacement is AC Delco 15-72496. Other info about what I have - I have the dual climate electronic control panel. I have no other codes associated with this system and the external temp shown in the window of the dash control is accurate with the yard thermometer.
THANKS

The center console, radio surround and knee bolster all need to come out to get to the sensor. Most likely a previous owner did not re-install the sensor properly. The wiring for in probably fell down behind the spot it is installed at.

To get instructions for removing the necessary parts check http://www.vettessentials.com (I think that is the correct spelling).

Gary,
I want to start by saying thanks for jumping in on this thread. The Vetteessentials site is a great resource for all of us. They appear in other threads too and are really clear in their explanations. I have it now to where the radio and AC unit can come out. So today I will be in there looking for the wiring and little plug-in. If you hear of any place that I can pick up one of these sensors, please drop me a note. Great try on the spelling - it was CLOSE! I pulled this off another thread www.vetteessentials.com
Again, THANKS for the input on this one

After pulling the radio and HVAC controller, the connectors you are looking for should be on one side of the defroster vent. I don't remember which way the harness goes.

Gary,
Found the connector! The two wires are a green and white, or, a light gray, with a black tracer. It was on the drivers side tucked out of sight between the tunnel and carpet, very much like the ignition switch position connections. No sensor anywhere to be found though. I'm thinking that instead of the sensor being in the plenum, its up at the front of the little black tube to sense the air coming out of the plenum and the cabin air too. Correct me if I'm wrong on this thinking. Moving forward! Now, finding the new sensor....
