Dumb question... are you sure you're in drive, and not in a lower gear, in your automatic shifter?

I thought the shift now message was for manual cars?

Did you get some work done on the car or some programming done?

It's in drive. Happens every time I drive the car at higher speeds for more than 15 minutes and I can't clear the message.

Nope, 100% stock. Weird right?

It's really strange. Happens at high speeds and will go away for a few minutes then come back, and I can't clear it.

Sorry, missed your original post. That's super interesting, hadn't heard of that before. It's for sure in drive, the car responds as it should. Or would the car just think that it's not in drive when it really is engaged? I'll do some research. Is this something easy to inspect?

The message stays on regardless of the rpm. I haven't noticed when it starts, though. Today when I noticed it was on the engine was around 1000 RPM - just coasting.
