Which setup has the best performance? Who has the "cover" that I have heard of that turns the Blackwing into a ram-air system? Are there any good posts on this that I have missed?
Thanks
Well I wish you had mentioned who sells the "cover" ! Any links to info on the "cover" , or to an install? I am leaning toward getting the Blackwing because the filter is larger. Any info would be appreciated.
Scott,
check out the F/S section. There are two or three of them for sale that are in like new condition. If they are gone check back once in awhile they are alway there. Some have fabricated the cold air box out of Lexan. Key with it or with the one you can buy frm vendors is to get them sealed completly. That is why i went with the Vortex
I have had the Blackwing without the airbox for 2 months in Florida's heavy rains. On the highway, around town, no problems with rain or moisture...as with any CAR, do not go into standing water more than 2" deep to avoid issues...hydroplaning..hydrolock...etc.. .
I love the Blackwing, it can go back to stock in less than 30 minutes!
Performance has increased over stock...by the SOTP calibration!
I'm sure both are equally good at increasing air flow. I have the Blackwing and liked the ease of install and easy removal if needed for warranty issues.
