Default Looking for a part number please: shifter bolt

While adjusting my shifter in my 01 Coupe, the T40 torx screw snapped on me while I was attempting to torque to 22 Ft pounds. Fortunately I was able to back the screw completely out, as it had not broken completely in half. The screw or bolt in question is the one that connects to the transmission rod.

I also noticed that the rubber gaskets under the bolts that attach to the torque tube seem to be cracked and dry. I suppose I should replace those as well.

I have been trying to find a part number so when I go to the dealership, it will be a simple process in getting a replacement. So far, no luck in finding a parts diagram with the part number.

Also the part number for the rubber gaskets would be most helpful.

Can someone please help me with this? Thank you in advance.

I replaced the rubber grommets on my shifter box with polyurethane pieces. If I remember correctly, I got them from Zip.........

Here is another alternative to the OE bolt which btw, is a M8x1.25x27 Torx head:

McMaster-Carr part # 92235A288

It's 30mm in length instead of 27, which is no problem as the pinch clamp on the shifter rod is a thru-hole. This is a socket head bolt with a flange head (measuring 17mm OD) and is also hardened to Rockwell C39 spec (175,000psi minimum tensile strength) Being only 3 mm longer, I'm confident it can also be used to replace the other two bolts where the shifter box bolts to the torque tube, but double check the depth and use a washer is necessary.

A box of 5 is $4.64.

Replaced all of mine with hex heads from Lowes. Added flat washers behind the heads of the 4 that hold the shift box. Real tight now. Don't forget the threadlocker, or the clamp bolt will loosen. Ask me how I know......
