I just finished installing my trans, and have been driving it for 3 days, 50-100 miles. Yesterday I did a bleed to clean out the new fluid I put in just to make sure it's fresh. Idk if this matters but I want as best an answer as possible. The resuvar did go dry during the bleed. So I put half a can of fluid and bleed it a bit more.
Fast forward to today, 10-12 miles later. I was driving and all of a sudden the clutch pedal drop to the floor. Then I saw some smoke come out from the hood. So I pulled over and pop the hood to see more smoke coming up. I took off the fluid cap and saw the fluid was low. I push the clutch pedal a few times and it went down. I drove the car home with no clutch and when I got home I could not replicate the fluid loss or smoke. Any thoughts on what's wrong.
I bleed the clutch again. There was a little air in it. After that I drove it for 2 hours mixed driving and couldn't get it to replicate. Could the air have caused the fluid loss?
I think my car just dosnt want new tires. Today when attempting to go back to disscount tire it had the blowout in the exact same spot as last time... same stop sign same parking garage lot pulled into. I added some fluid pumped the pedal no more leak. I saw smoke coming from between the firewall and exhaust mani. I couldn't locate the Leak though. After I get these new tires I'll go to the auto hobby shop and throw it out. A lift for better inspection

Maybe the smoke was just some fluid that dripped on the exhaust somewhere...
Good luck with the tire thing... non run flat hankook, nitto are a couple of forum favorites
I went with budget tires, potenza 760 (I just spent 10k on this round of upgrades). Yea the smoke was the fluid on the manifold. This is really leaving me scratching my head.
Perhaps the "quick disconnect" fitting is not connected correctly. When you pump the pedal it squirts out a little fluid until there is none left. You refill and all is OK until it empties again.
The QD is only one of several locations it could be leaking. Try the fitting on the end of the clutch master and the fitting that goes into the slave.
You have a slow leak somewhere. Have someone pump the pedal while you watch the lines.

That was my first thought. I checked the heat sheild over the line/quick dissconnect, and it's dry on the inside. I'm going to keep driving it and keep a bottle of fluid in the car until it totally blows out and I can figure out where it's coming from. It is hitting the manifold. I'm thinking that shouldn't start a fire right? I tossed a 20lb Fire extingushar inside the car just in ccase.
