I replaced the front running/turn signal bulb and figured the problem was solved until today in a rainstorm blown again. Any advice? Led? pull light and seal? I went thru brake cooling hose area to change it the first time and got My hand stuck! Dawn dish soap helped!
The running lights have a tendency to melt the top of the housing, you can probably see it if you peak down from above between the bumper and headlights. Pull the housing and fix the hole with RTV or something similar.
My socket was corroded beyond belief, most likely due to the hole melted in the housing from the DRL's, letting water run in. I replaced both front sockets, bulbs, and sealed the holes and pulled Fuse 2 from the under hood fuse box. YMMV.
Heat from the OEM bulb is the cause of the problem. As mentioned above, the housing is probably damaged and it's letting water in, or the socket is burned/corroded causing bad contacts and creating more heat, or both.
To avoid having to fix the housing or the socket again, get LEDs: no more heat, no more problems
LEDs will cause hyperflashing turn signals, but a hyperflash harness will take care of it (although hazards will still do it).
This one even includes 2 LEDs for you license plate lights for just $34.99. It's completely plug-and-play: no splicing or anything

I agree with the above... get new housings, run a bead of silicone around them just to make sure they never leak again, replace the sockets if they are severely burned, only use led bulbs from now on, get a harness so they won't hyperflash, and you're all set
