It was 91 here today and we decided to go for a ride and put the top down. Just to be decadent, I turned on the A/C with the top down and set it at 62 degrees. After about an hour, my wife said that there was a small drip on the extreme left side of the passenger compartment. The upholstery directly under the dash closest to the transmission hump seemed a little damp and there was some condensation in the passenger vents. Other variables are that we just installed a dual cup holder that blocked about half the little vent on the transmission hump on the passenger side. anyone else encounter this? We're taking off on a 1200 trip in a few days so am a little concerned about the water dripping in.

Drain on the bottom of the HVAC box is plugged. There are threads here about it. Some recommend cutting the bottom of it off slightly. It's a short rubber udder near the starter. You need to be under the car to get to it.
The condensation is supposed to drip out of a rubber elbow coming out of the engine firewall near the frame rail. If it got broken clogged crimped or turned up side down then maybe it could overflow into the passenger compartment.
Maybe that cold duct was just sweating being in the hot humid air if it was just a few drops. A few drops if ice cold water dripping on her foot might seem like more than it really was.

What search term do you recommend? I used HVAC box but didn't see anything useful at first glance.
