Default Please help interpret z06 alignment results

Hey all-

I have a 2003 C5 Z06 with just under 43K miles. I put Nitto NT05 tires on it and had it aligned almost 23K miles ago and 6 years. The tires were to the wear bars in the center and the passenger side front tire inside was just to the cords. Driver side inside was bald but no cords. I typicall run 30-32 psi front and rear

I had the alignment checked and it was as such:

Front:
Caster Left 7.68 deg
Right 6.81 deg

Camber Left -1.53 deg
Right -1.41 deg

Toe Left 0.0 deg
Right +0.01 deg
Total +.01 deg

REAR:
Camber Left -1.02 deg
Right -.77 deg

Toe Left +.02 deg
Right -.06 deg
Total -.04 deg

This car is 99.9% street driven. I set it up like this with the old tires thinking I would autox it more.

This seems quite a bit more radical than the PFADT performance street setting. I also do not like the rear toe settings being so variable.
Will I notice a handling difference going from where I am to the PFADT settings of

-.7 to -.9 camber front, -.4 to -.6 rear camber, and I do not know if my degree settings are close to -1/16" total toe front and rear

I am somewhat pleased with the tire wear of the NT05s with these settings. I put bridgestone re760s this time to try something different and I was always worried about the nittos in the rain.

Thanks!

too much camber for the street in my opinion... I run mine -.7 up front and -.5 in the rear and zero the toe front and rear... I would also prefer to get the caster closer together, with the way it is now I would expect it to pull to the right... 6.5 to 7 degrees positive caster should be fine... my car is strictly street driven with the main focus being straight line handling at high speeds

Does your car feel loose with zero toe usually a touch of toe in makes a more stable feel and also keeps the tire wearing better when you have negative camber.

I don't know if you were asking me or the op... I like the feel of my car better with the toe zeroed out, it feels better doing 150+ that way... I had it toed in .03 on each side (.06 or roughly 1/16" total) and I didn't like it... if I had to make a quick lane change at high speeds the turn in just felt too loose for my liking, I'm on drag radials year round so throwing it around corners real hard is not something I focus on

Ok thanks I rarely see speed in excess of 120 and if I do it is for short periods of time.

Thanks for your replies! I am surprised that my tires wore pretty evenly for 22K miles on a tire most people only get 10-15K out of. I must drive pretty aggressively in the turns to flatten out the tire?

Thank you for the .06 equaling 1/16" is that for a c4 or c5 sized wheels or does it not matter?

My car steers great above 45 mph when the magnasteer cuts out its over boosting. It does not pull to the left or right but I rarely drive over 100 mph unless drag racing on the track and if I do it is for seconds.

I am strongly considering swapping to your alignment neutron as it also matches the pfadt settings with exception of toe.

I have negative toe and I did notice an improvement in turn in with these settings over stock but I do not know how much I have currently and do not like how one side is slightly positve and the other is a bit more negative. The biggest improvement I noticed was with these settings and applying light throttle mid turn to rotate the vehicle better... I don't think I tried that with the stock settings. I really wish I had better seats.

I wonder if I should post this in the road racing section as well? cross posting is not allowed correct, I cannot remember?

Do you use the NT05R's they are supposed to offer the best of both worlds...

I did have the nt05r's for maybe around 2 years and recently replaced them with mickey thompson et street s/s... the nt05r's are a great tire, they handle pretty good for what they are but I never got stupid with them in corners... I have no complaints about them I just had the itch to try something different... as far as the alignment goes the final specs are really personal preference, just make sure whoever does the alignment gets the settings equal on both sides... if you aren't doing your own alignment that can frustrate some techs because most of them want to get it in and out as fast as possible so they can move onto the next job and as long as it's green on their monitor it's good lol

Way too negative camber. Going more than -0.50 will do this. You can get away with -0.75 for daily use if you are a bit aggressive of a driver.

Reason for the right side to the cords versus the left is due to the caster spred you have. Itt should have had a slight left pull. Right caster should be around 0.30 higher than left.
