Default A few questions

sorry if this is a stupid question- I recently took my 2003 Z06 with 59K + miles into the shop to check for exhaust leaks (had a tick coming from underneath the car). I have a Bassani exhaust that was already on the car when I purchased and I have no idea how old or how long its been on the car. They found a small exhaust leak and spot welded it. The mechanic told me the muffler was pretty "hollow" and should probably be replaced. I've looked for a Bassini muffler but it seems like you have to purchase the whole exhaust. Does this sound right and if so what muffler do I buy?

oh, still has tick...very pronounced when driving near something that sound can bounce off of.

Also, I just purchased C6 Z06 shocks. When i changed them out I plan on replacing front and rear sway bar end links. Anything else I should do that doesn't cost a fortune and a novice can do?

Thanks for your assistance,
David

When you can hear it I would try to see if it is RPM related or MPH related...If it's exhaust it should increase or decrease with the RPMs...

Also, I just purchased C6 Z06 shocks. When i changed them out I plan on replacing front and rear sway bar end links. Anything else I should do that doesn't cost a fortune and a novice can do?

Amsoil Torque Drive Fluid in your Trans...Vararam CAI... Vararam Air Duct and you can move your MAF... Simple Bluetooth Adapter and Speaker Upgrade makes a BIG difference (Dennis@Double D Mods)
Anti-Venom Mod...Ranger Method and Lucas Dot IV synthetic fluid...
LOTS of TLC Chadwicks is a forum favorite...

THANK YOU for your service

73vette- thank you and thanks for your assistance. When I bought the car last year I changed all the fluids with amsoil. I also changed out plugs and wire and installed a oil catch can.

the click doesn't change with RPM's. I'm thinking its either the wheel bearings or the sway bar end links. i took the back tires off and lubricated the wheel hub with no resolution.

the muffler being "hollow' is whats kicking my ***.

Also, i don't like taking things to the dealer but I'm going to let them flush the radiator. Seems like a hassle and I don't feel like messing with that one.

chadwick paint correction will be in the very near future.
