So I recently found and fixed a faulty wire connection at the starter causing high voltage. Since that has been resolved, I've been getting the charge system fault on the dic, and the alternator doesn't charge at cold starts. Works fine most of the time if I just stop for gas real quick or something. However, when I unplug and reconnect the three wire connector, I hear it whine up and start charging. I figured it was a faulty connector so I replaced that (only cost $30.)
First start up after, guess what! Same thing... tried doing a search on it, nothing came up as far as I could find. Any ideas guys? I'm ready for my charging woes to be over.
P0622 current when it's messing up, P1637 comes up when I disconnect the connector I'm guessing because I've only seen it as a history code after I get the alternator going.
First I would verify GOOD battery voltage
Then I would check the connections at the battery, the starter and the alternator...
Take the car to a good parts store and have them LOAD test your battery and check the alternator..
IF you have a bad alternator BE SURE to read the STICKY about ALTERNATORS...
