Electrical demons
One thing I have learned after owning my C5 for 16 years is that most electrical demons are caused by a weak or weakening battery. Just yesterday, my car started freaking out, low voltage message, check engine light... Looked at my battery and noticed I purchased 7 years back. I run a tender when car is not in use. I always use a silver sharpie to date my battery purchase on the actual battery. Time for a new one. Like magic, every thing is copasetic once again.

I agree with you 100%. When I had my C5, I replaced the battery every 4years regardless. By doing that, I never had any electrical problems and I had a 2000 which was said to have had electrical gremlins from new. The battery is the heart of the the car, never understood why most drivers try to stretch the life of a battery to the last volt.
I have a new C7 now and the factory battery was to light for my taste, so I replaced it. With all the electrical things on the Vette, a strong battery is a must.
