1278 code - stuck HUD arrow - Calling Bill C.
The right turn arrow in the HUD stays stuck intermittently. It is only the arrow, not the actual turn signal. I get a 1278 code [RF turn signal monitor circuit] This problem only happens after the car is warmed up and I am running in the "parking brakes" ON position.
I have LED DRL switchbacks, LED strips, LED corner markers and a Hyperflash harness. This setup worked great for two or three years until recently. All of the bulbs are good with the exception that some of the the little LEDs in the strips have failed.
When the arrow is stuck on and the right turn signal is engaged I get the "Bong-Bong" tone. (this is supposed to come on after some period of time to tell you that the turn signal has been on for a long time)
When I go back to the normal "off/DRL" setting the problem goes away.
The FSM fault tree for the 1278 code eventually results in putting in a new relay.
Bill C or George (the RadioFlyer), any ideas?
