Help! Front turn signals....

Help! Front turn signals....
I have had to replace my front turn signal like 3 times, but just now noticed, drivers side has an orange (or amber) 3157 bulb in it, and passenger side has a clear 4157. Which is the correct one or is it just a matter of preference? Which one do you all run?

OEM turn signal/parking lamp/DRL bulbs were amber. You could use a clear (white) bulb if you wanted to do so.
Replacing that one bulb 3 times sounds like something is not right. Was this over a short period of time, or over the time you have owned the car?

I have only owned the car 6 months..... two times on the passenger side and one time on the drivers side.... it seems like every time is after a good wash.... my housing is cracked, but covered up with blackouts.... need to replace them, just haven't had the time or money yet to do so. The clear seems ALOT brighter.....
