Default Inner Front Tie Rods Removal Tool?

Hello,

I have been searching for the right tool to remove the front inner tie rods. I am not sure whether to use a 36mm wrench or if there is a tie rod socket that is EXACT for the C5 stock front inner tie rods. Has anyone had any experience on removing these inner tie rods and can post what tool you have used. I tried renting the inner tie rod sockets from autozone and they don't fit. Either too big or too small and none are metric. Harbor Freight only sells a kit for $132 and they don't show the sizes.

Thank you for any info about this. It's been a PITA to find the right socket. Do you think that it is possible to just use a 36mm wrench to loosen the inner tie rods?

Thank you.

These are all great suggestions. My son actually removed both inner tie rods using a pipe wrench. And installed the new ones using an autozone tie rod installation tool. But now I realized he forgot to add blue loc tight and am wondering if that is something I should be concerned about.
