these care are notorious for this issue, more so with after market exhausts.

Do you do your own work?

Just get under there and align them as best you can. I usually get them as close to the bumper as I can without actually touching the bumper.

The muffler tab is held by it and the rubber has been known to disintegrate or disappear. Most Corvette suppliers sell replacements. If there is no accident damage or bent pipe, they usually fit nearly perfectly. The muffler tab can be heated and bent, but unless damaged, should not need it
I have also seen them off kilter due to damage and bent pipes from backing into or going over obstructions but, check the easy stuff first.
A muffler shop can heat and bend them if you cannot adjust them and if it has somehow been bent. Easy and cheap. While in college, I worked as an installer for Midas and one can align anything with heat. A pic would help.

You may have to loosen the clamps where the cat back attaches ahead of the rear axle and turn it a bit. So,in sum, check rear hangers, muffler tabs, and pre-axle clamps. Play with it until it suits you. I have Borla cat back and it is dead -nuts on center. So, it can be done.
Dave
PS. I can get a finger between mine and the valance. May vary with stock, but adjust to where you need to get them even.

Default Ok , the left side

So check it out first. A good pic from the bottom might tell the tale.
I am sure that Gene @ Cultrag can supply one or Marc at Vettenuts.

^^^ These are what is being mentioned

Most all C5 mufflers, OEM and most aftermarkets, have these tabs that slip into a bracket with a rubber mount. The rubber often deteriorates and rattles out of the hanger. It's all easily checked and/or replaced.

If the rubber is good, something else must be bent.

in the hanger and not bent? Something is missing or bent for sure. Is the tab the same as the left and fully inserted. Should be the same angles. Has the rear end ever been hit or the pipes dragged?
Got to get the patient diagnosis right before you can treat the malady! Looks like the tab may be bent. It takes some force to screw them up that badly.
Velocity Vette's picture is exactly how it should look. Nice shot!!

Looks like the tab is in all the way ,if I loosen both bolts on the hanger will the rubber clamp be able to be removed ? If so I could try and bend the tab ...

Default Yep, just go under there and start wrenching.

Nothing under there is fragile. Bend and replace whatever is screwed up until you have them aligned. You are not going to hurt anything if you proceed methodically. When you do bend, just do it slowly and incrementally to return it to its original angle. I often apply a little heat with my trusty old $6.00 Bernzomatic propane torch when I am in doubt. I do doubt that you will need to heat it. I also often us large battery pliers or Vise-Grips to gradually flatten bent metal. It is a feel job. Jes' do it!

I put a couple washers in the left side to bring it down just a bit, after I got the right side up some.. I think it looks better than it did before..
