i'll be taking my 2000 in for the 5th time to fix the memory seats. sometimes it puts me where it should, sometimes it jams me up to the steering wheel, sometimes the seat never goes all the way back when i exit, sometimes the telescoping steering wheel doesn't go all the way, etc. has a tsb ever been put out? any suggestions????? i really believe my dealer is trying but doesn't know what to do next.
The memory on my '98 just keeps me guessing. Sometimes the AC comes on, the radio is tuned and the seat moves. Other times it doesn't or just the seat and mirrors move. I have had it looked at but always the same deal (dealer could not duplicate customer complaint) I just look at it as a little surprise every time I drive it.
My seat did that until recently. It hasn't done it in several weeks.
The only thing I did that could have made it stop was take the seat out to check the adjuster assembly -- my seat rocks. I think maybe the connector might have been goofy or something.
Of course, tomorrow, it'll probably do it again to prove me wrong!
this is a common problem if you "confuse" the car. buy confuse i mean, you most likely are putting the key in the ignition before you close the door. i think there is another reason that it will mess up, but it escapes me at the moment. this has been discussed before and has happened to me numerous times also. try getting in the car, closing the door, and pressing the #1 memory button. then insert the key. this should get you back on the right track. maybe someone else will remember the other ways that we "confuse" the memory package. but this is worth a try. hope it helps you out. :smash:
Oh bless you guys. I thought I was going nuts. My memory acts the same way as yours. To contradict the door and key thing, if you press the unlock button on the remote on approach shouldn't all functions move to that memory position? So why after getting in and putting key in does everything move or change? :boxing
im not sure why it (the C5) does what it does. i just know it does it! i dont really know, i know i read it in Corvette Quarterly sometime ago. that may help you. this forum is the best because someone always knows something. hell i doubt that i would ever buy anyother car simply because of this great forum!! just kidding i love the vette. :D :D
