Default Just got home from the Track...

It was my first time to get to run the Vette, but the weather turned out pretty good. I made about 8 or 9 pass and got alot of 13.1x's and 13.2x's. I also managed to get a 13.07 and a 13.05. I wanted to get some stock times before I modded it. So I hope the 12's will come fast and easy now.

Nice job, you are running good times stock. Spinning a little I imagine, what where the 60' times? Wish I could race on a Thursday nite. :smash:

They should come soon, what were your 60' times, that is the key?

I cut 2.0x's on the two 13.0 runs. And the others were 2.1' and 2.2's. If I could get a 1.9 or a 1.8 on these Run Flats it would be nice. I was shifting at 5500 rpm, what should I be shifting at? I think next time I will take it to 5800 or 5900 and see what happens. I can't remeber exactly what I shifted at on my 2 good runs, but over all for the night I was shifting at 5500 rpm.

I want to get something to help the performance next but I really want to get a Cat-Back system now. I heard some of the Mustangs there and it made me miss mine.

O' yeah I saw and talked to an 03 Cobra owner. He ran a 13.2x. with Nitto 555's and a Lightning Pulley. He complimented my driving and said that he couldn't believe what I was running.

Your 2.00's are excellent, with the M6 you do know how to launch. My 60' with the auto were 2. 220 spinning bad, but still managed a 13.30@106mph. I shift about 5800 all the time, any higher I lose power.

Good runs, what were the outside temps?

When my car was 100% stock, paper filter and all. I was running 13.4's at Memphis Motorsports Park. That was with 2.2 60ft. Every time I'm in memphis its hot as heck.

Outside temp was low 80's to right at 80 maybe. It is alway hot here. That is why I went tonight, it finally cooled down a little. Car temp was about 215 to 220 when I was stage'n.

I was trapping 107 and 108.

Now it is time to start modding. What should I start with? I want to get consistent mid 12's fast and cheaply :D

Hey Big Casino, I heard we were very well represented at the track tonight. I hate missing it, but I'll have her back together by the end of the weekend.

I think you should just start with a low temp stat, your temps are to high when staging. Hypertech makes a good 178 stat that will fix that. Then intake, headers/exhausts, NX, larger injectors, H/C, bored and stroked, etc. Us modaholics just got to have our fix!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep.

Try shifting right before the rev limiter as well.

6K shifts will drop a 10th off of your times.

About 2800 rpm's and slipping the clutch for a few feet. I tried at a little over 3100 and broke the tires loose. So it was getting late and I will try some different launches next time.

Your air density altitude for your conditions at the track that night (I guessed 8 pm) was 1650 Ft.

But wait 'till you get some 60 degree weather (and maybe a little higher baro. meter reading) then the 12's will come even if you still have 2.0 60 ft.'s!

Go to
http://www.wunderground.com/history/...lyHistory.html

for your conditions at the track on the 12th

and use the program at http://www.quarterjr.com/

to calculate the density altitude. This factor will give you an idea before you start racing what you are up against that race day.

Oh for the 60's to come here in Dallas!!!!!
.

What temp is the stocker? I figured it was probably a 180.
