My power windows and locks quit working/how can I get the windows rolled up!
I was having problems with an aftermarket alarm on my car, so decided to get rid of it, I basically clipped all the wires on the alarm itself, I did not cut any of the vehicles wiring, but now for some reason, I have no power windows or locks, but the mirrors still work, and I am getting a code:
RDCM loss of comm.
LDCM loss of comm.
I checked all the connections, and fuses, and everything looks good, any ideas? Does anyone know how I can at least get the windows rolled up for now, till I get it in to get fixed. I would think 12V to a certain pin on the connector would do it, but dont want to short anything out without knowing which one, thanks!

check out the star connector#2 I forget the wiring, but mine did the same thing. I took out the BCM and fiddled with this connector. C5specialist lead me to it. you may have to get a new connector. I think mine was the tan wire that was giving me crapola :D

RH & LH Window motors: Both have BRN and DK BLU wires that go directly to the motor (this is from the factory service manual, they're really good to have. Call Fitchner Chevrolet 4066284618 for an awesome price).
I jumpered straight from the battery one time to get the pass window up. Didn't blow anything up either!

This is what I was thinking go straight to the window motor with 12V

I located the brown wire and the blue wire, touched 12V to each of them and nothing, is there more to it than this? I cant get the car in till next week to get it looked at, and am planning on driving it this weekend, but need to get the windows up.........man this is frustrating!! :mad

kwik8racr,
Did you try reversing the polarity when probing the wires?
I reread your post and I guess you did try both wires with the 12 volt probe. Did you ground the other wire, just to make sure there was a complete circuit?
Good luck.

yeah, I forgot to say you gotta complete the circuit. take one lead high and the other low.
In your email:
"Pin: 1, wire color: DK BLU, Circuit: 164, Function: power window motor feed-up
Pin: 2, wire color: BRN, Circuit: 165, Function: power window motor feed-down
Just hook two test leads to your battery, and connect the (-) to the BRN window motor wire, and then touch your (+) to the DK BLU wire and see which way the window goes. It should go up. If nothing happens unhook at least one of the leads quickly.
It should work without any ill effects, I can't remember exactly how I did it, but it was something like this."

the window motors are designed with rest-at-ground circuits. Meaning, BOTH wires are tied to ground via relays when they're not doing anything. Of course, that ground is only there assuming you leave the plug connected to the DCM, and the ground supplied to the DCM has not been removed.
This can all easily be checked with a voltmeter.
If you want to "jumper" the motor, unplug the connector with the window motor wires and put one to a ground, and give the other 12V. If it does nothing, reverse the wires. If it still does nothing: maybe the motor is stuck or the motor is fried. Make sure your 12V lead has a 10Amp fuse in it. I doubt either one of those possibilities since it's both windows and this happened at the same time.
