Default Want to Race - Help

There seems to be a lot of you guys (gals) who can help us novices when it comes to the whole race idea.

Can someone who takes their car to Ennis give us a run down on what to do. For instance, I know where the motorplex is, but don't have the slightest idea of what days you can run your car, what time do you get there, where do you sign up, what does it cost, just overall information that might keep us from looking like complete idiots.

Thanks for any help.

True  ...it does reference dates and times but is lacking in answering some of your questions.

The current schedule shows that you can make runs on this Saturday and Sunday, gates are open from 3PM-12AM and 8AM-5PM respectively. All ameteur events will have time trials before eliminations begin of which anyone can make some runs. It's always a good idea to call the track before heading out to see what event type is happening on that weekend and if there's any problems with the facilities...also nice to see what the weather is like at the complex.

When you get to the gates you will be asked to pay and sign a waiver. They will give you a tech card of which you will fill out and take with your car to the tech director. You will have to get in line prolly for this. Once you've passed tech you can enter the staging lanes and race :)

Driving technique?
What type of tranny do you have in your car? We can give you more thorough tips if we know which one. If you have an A4, do you know if you have the 3.15 perf. axle?

An A4 with a cold air intake is pretty easy IMO. I have heard torqueing her up is not the fastest way but leaving it in 3rd gear is a good idea...no manual shifting.

An M6 is a whole different story.

Thanks
