Default Brian Touly LS1 cam stage 3

Does anybody have this cam in there LS1? I've already have headers/ exhaust. I've had to add new injectors, 160 Thermostat, more money. Anyway my buddy has to pick it tomorrow after the tune. Is it worth the expense?

I had the Brian Tooley Stage 3 NA cam in my 6.0, and I loved it. Granted, that motor was a 370, and this is a 346. Might buck a little more down low, but it was very well mannered in my setup. It pulled hard too

I don't know the specs on the cam but here's some basic 101 advice, don't over-cam your heads. What year LS1 ?

The BTR stage III for LS1/LS2 is a 231/242, .617/.592, 112+2. With a proper tune this camshaft should offer nice drivability and nice overall performance. If its in the budget I would definitely recommend the camshaft swap.

It was a text thru the tuner about the hp it put down. He talked about a 40 hp bump prior to instillation and now its a 60 plus bump so I accused him of using giggle gas [joking] during the tune because from what I've read on the this forum and ls1 tech [101 all 4 posts that's why I felt the need to go to a bigger cam to make up for the lack of flow on the stock heads]. I thought I would be at 380hp with out a zo6/fast intake manifold. I do not have the tools or the knowledge in this this field I took my tuners advice. If the valve train craps out next summer this forum will be the 1st to know.

I forgot to mention it was an entire kit. push rods, springs ect. there's also a stage 4 cam. I thought that might be a bit to much I'll never know.

I had a similar cam in my ls1. 234/242 110 lsa with 3.42s and a t56. Made 431/395 with stock heads. Parking lot driving wasn't that fun but some of that was a poor tune. A good, educated tuner should be able to get it to drive around a parking lot with out bucking you out of the car. Besides the cam surge, It was one of my favorite cams. Power everywhere and pulled up top.

The 112 lsa will help street manners a lot compared to my 110 lsa.
