Default Clone TECH 2

Not sure if this is common knowledge about the TECH 2 or not but I thought I would pass this along. I'm sure many of you already know this but I sure didn't and I wasn't finding the answer very easily. When I bought my clone, I was going through the menus and when I was trying to select the menu for a 2000 corvette, I got to the Product Line menu and was confused as to what to select. Listed down the left column was a single letter for each row. I was thinking that oh well, this is a clone, you get what you pay for.

When I finally did do the correct search, I realized what it meant by "Product Line". It turns out that this is the 4th digit of the VIN. For corvette, select "Y". For my Pontiac Grand Prix, I selected "W". Now I know when people refer to GM F-body or Y-body, I know what they are referring to.

Also, I had my battery disconnected before my smog inspection was due. Knowing that I had to have my readiness tests complete before inspection, I went for a drive. All readiness tests completed fairly quickly except for EVAP. After 150 miles, still not complete. After playing with my TECH 2, I found a menu listing for an EVAP test. In about 5 minutes, the EVAP test passed and the readiness test was complete. Following the instructions, the TECH 2 has you initialize the test with the key on but not running. It then has you start the engine. When I started the engine, my TECH 2 rebooted. It didn't seem to matter.

I bought this TECH 2 mainly for brake bleeding. I intend on flushing my brake fluid soon and upgrading my flex lines to stainless. It would have been difficult to do it 100% without the TECH 2.

Yeah, I guess I should buy one... been meaning to. They do seem to work fine, but as always, caveat emptor with cheap clones.

Those of you that have purchased and used a T2 clone, I would be interested to know just which one you purchased and why you selected that clone.

Curious minds want to know ;^)

Can someone tell me what I need besides the t2 clone and the candi module? Do I need a card, the candi to ibd2 cable, etc? What is required to do everything on a C6? Is there anything else required or optional?

Thanks

NO!! Even the Dealers have a few legal hoops to jump thru. Otherwise, some of us would have 7,000 mile C5s, which had an actual 107,000 miles!!!

The full kit that I purchased from ali-express came with the candi module and the card that covered GM models up to 2013. The newest GM vehicle I have used it on is a 2011 malibu.

So the tech 2 itself, the card for GM vehicles and the Candi module is all you need for gm vehicles up to 2013?

Can you give me the name of the seller or a link to the place on aliexpress you got yours from?

thanks
