Default Headlamp motor

Help... I replaced the gear in the driver side
headlight motor with gears from Bret Frankel.

Now the headlight ( when turned on or off) rapidly goes up and down SIX times and stops at half mast.
WHAT did I do wrong??? Please help.

I'll take a stab at this since I've been thru the headlight wars on my C5. My guess is that when you replaced the headlight and motor back into the car, you accidently got your actuator arm upside down. Try this without turning the car on. Open the hood and then manually raise the driver side headlight with the **** (counter-clockwise to raise and it takes a lot of turns to raise it). (This will also be easier to see if you take off the black headlight shield - three phillips screws). Take a flashlight of some sort and take a look at the actuator arm that raises the headlight and note it's orientation. It swivels in the center allowing the arm to be installed incorrectly. The swivel point should be pointing to the front of the car as the headlight closes. My guess is that you've got it 180 degrees off and its pointing to the rear of the car. It's an easy fix however. Just unbolt the arm where it attaches to the motor, then orient it correctly and bolt it back on. Let me know how it turns out.
