When I depress clutch, turn key to start, I hear only one clunk then nothing. While I suspect it is the solenoid, I am searching for any other problems. Pulled codes, several H codes for communication, some old H codes for ABS and TAC, cleared them and turned ignition to start and again only one clunk and no codes. Security light goes off when trying to crank. Right now I do not have someone to hold the start key while I thump the starter but was wondering what else to look for till then.

That is where I would start !!! or check purple wire on the starter for 12 volts when turning the key to start !!!
Well I know this isn't the way it should be done but I used a long broom handle and stuck it down and could only get at the solenoid so I gave it a few semi-love taps. Got inside and turned the key and it started right up. Ended up replacing the starter and solenoid and haven't had a problem since.
It sounds like the solenoid is working partially, it is pushing out the starter drive gear, but is not sending power to the starter to turn the engine. You should check connections at the solenoid, and if they are OK you should just replace the starter and solenoid so you won't have any problems latter on.
