Default Cleaning power seat with and control module

Looking through seat threads I saw one that provided details for using WD-40 or Tuner Cleaner to clean the power switch and seat modules.

Does anyone have this info or a link to the original thread?

The switch module on the side of the seats is a bit fun to open up, it is kind of glued together in spots. Once this is carefully opened it can be cleaned with electrical contact cleaner. Don't use WD40. Tuner cleaner would be OK.

The control module has nothing exposed that would require cleaning. But if you want to it can be washed out with electrical contact cleaner.

While you have these opened up look for fine white powdery corrosion around the solder joints. Clean these up and re-solder as necessary.

Does the SCM come apart easily for cleaning or not?

Yes, the case comes apart easily, gently pry the tabs on the three sides open to release it.

It will leave a non-conductive residue.
