Default ABS/TC/AH Issues

Hey all. Having an issue I can't quite pin down and would appreciate some help. My ABS and TC lights keep coming on after about 20 minutes sometimes quicker. Before that happens, if I turn off traction control, it will turn itself back on sometimes within seconds, sometimes minutes. When I turn the ign on, I can hear the EBCM making a clicking noise I've never heard before.

Bad EBCM? C1248, C1254 are throwing which points to EBCM.

For what it's worth, I have an aftermarket smaller diaphragm brake booster which I needed to clear my turbo manifolds. My brakes have always been pretty stiff since I did that. A Tech2 autobleed didn't fix anything. :/

At a loss.

Electrical issues can cause the C1254 or a bad EBCM can also cause the C1254.

I would start with insuring the wiring and connector at the EBCM is in good condition and that the grounds associated with the EBCM are all clean and functional. Disconnect the connector and carefully examine the pins for corrosion and/or damage.

Here are a couple of links about grounds that will help you out:

I would also check the fuses related to the EBCM. I don't have my fuse list handy but the fuse box layouts in the back of the owners manual will get that info for you.

If the grounds and other electrical are verified as good then a replacement EBCM may be needed.

Diagnosis matrix in the shop manual for the C1254 DTC is pretty much limited to the above possibilities.....
Thanks a million for this in depth response. Kind of what I was expecting to hear, but I was hoping someone had a "Hey, me too!" story. I hate chasing down electrical demons. Thanks again! I'll be sure to update this thread when I figure this out.

I'm stupid. I forgot to tighten down the ground on the PS below the fuse box for the EBCM/TC/ABS. All good now. Thanks a bunch! What a stupid mistake... ugh.
